Circular to Flag State Inspectors conducting Annual Safety Inspections

Circular No. 7 to Flag State Inspectors (FSI)

Subject: Review of Authorization of FSIs

This notice is issued by Vanuatu Logistics and Administration Services Ltd. (VLAS) to all Flag State Inspectors conducting Annual Safety Inspections on vessels operating under the Vanuatu flag.

VLAS is committed to maintaining the highest standards of safety and operational excellence across its fleet. As part of this commitment, we emphasize the importance of adhering to internationally recognized practices to ensure the safety of life at sea, the protection of the marine environment, and the compliance of our vessels with all applicable regulations. Your role as FSIs is pivotal to upholding these principles.

If a vessel inspected by a FSI is detained within one month of the inspection, the authorization of Inspector will undergo a thorough review and evaluation.

This review will consider the deficiencies that led to the detention. In cases where the detention arises from factors such as crew-related issues or other circumstances beyond the Inspector's direct control, their authority may remain unaffected.

Inspectors are reminded to perform their duties with the utmost diligence and professionalism, ensuring all vessels under VLAS's authority comply with required safety and operational standards.

For any inquiries or further clarification, please contact VLAS office.
