A bill of sale, conveyance, or mortgage shall not be recorded unless it states the interest of the grantor or mortgagor in the vessel, and the interest so sold, conveyed or mortgaged. A bill of sale, conveyance, mortgage or certificate of discharge shall not be recorded unless previously acknowledged before the Commissioner or a Deputy Commissioner or a consul or consular agent of Vanuatu or before a notary public or other officer authorized by the laws of the place where the acknowledgement is made to take acknowledgements of deeds.
