Upon receipt of a written application of an owner of a vessel eligible for documentation requesting the issuance of a Certificate of Registry for the vessel, the Deputy Commissioner, upon payment of the prescribed fees, may issue a permanent Certificate of Registry for the vessel provided that the owner furnishes proof:
As to the ownership of the vessel.
That any foreign marine document for the vessel has been surrendered with the consent of the government that had issued it, or that it has been legally cancelled.
That the vessel is in a seaworthy condition.
That the owner has paid the registration fees due in respect of the vessel.
That the markings of name, official number, net tonnage or tonnages and home port have actually been made.
That a certificate of measurement has been issued.
Applications are processed online. Once the Application is complete, authorized person(s) must sign and date the form in the appropriate boxes. Although you may submit your application online for expedited service, THE ORIGINAL SIGNED FORM MUST BE MAILED to the Deputy Commissioner office.
