Appointment of a New Assistant Commissioner
Mr. Saade Makhlouf has recently been appointed to the prestigious position of Vanuatu Assistant Commissioner of Maritime Affairs. This appointment was made by the government of Vanuatu on September 9th 2021. Mr. Makhlouf, who is a former Vanuatu diplomat, brings with him a deep-seated passion for the country and a wealth of experience to the position. He looks forward to serving Vanuatu in this role.
Some of Mr. Makhlouf's duties will be the issuing of vessels registration certificates and seafarers’ documentation as well as granting waivers for some particular cases and services. Mr. Makhlouf will be working closely with the Vanuatu Administrator for Maritime affairs M/S Vanuatu Logistics & Administrative Services Limited to provide shipowners from all over the world with the highest quality services.
The new administration is committed to processing applications at best cost and shortest time. A new system has been created to allow shipowners and seafarers to submit and track their applications online which reduces cost and processing time.
